NEW RELEASE

NOIMA (CD Album)
Continuing our fruitful collaboration with the versatile artist Miltos Pavlou, we are excited to announce the release of his new musical collection, titled NOHIMA.
NOHIMA is Miltos Pavlou's first album-CD of songs with his own music and lyrics, following his two collections of songs based on Cavafy's poetry, Ithaki (2023) and ITHACA (2024).
NOHIMA is a collection of songs—notes from a journey, one that begins with seeking and ultimately finds meaning in life. They are milestones in an exploration-quest through love, migration, and return, reflection, and the large or small steps we choose at the crossroads we encounter. A journey toward a place where everything makes sense.
The songs in the NOHIMA album mark key moments on a path of uncovering this human journey. They distinguish and build on decisive experiences, principles, and values, both personal and collective. These are the ones we recognize along the way and in crucial passages of clarity and awareness.
The songs speak of the ambivalent relationship with the homeland and the country (Patrida Xeni), with the city (PAOK-Saloniki), the human condition, the depths and the sky of human society (Tou Anthropou i Oikogeneia), the perpetual migration and journey through the world, and the encounters of generations and cultures (Trena tis Dysis - Sidirodromos). They explore the revolutionary, cosmological, and sometimes dismissed, erotic passion (Oso Mporo) and the transcendent love that does not fade when we leave (I Psychi Taxidevousa - Traveler Soul).
The album is structured around the constant of deep love and connection with Miltos Pavlou's life partner, Maya Zilich, with three songs placed at the beginning, middle, and end of the album (1. Everywhere Nowhere, 5. Gyalina - Ta Kalytera Einai Mprosta, 10. Traveler Soul).
Miltos' long-time collaborator, musician Sergios Voudris, contributed to the orchestration of the album, decisively shaping the meaning of this musical journey.
The children's choir of Edessa, conducted by Theodora Gourani, plays a pivotal role in the song Tou Anthropou i Oikogeneia, emblematic of Miltos' personal and professional journey as a social scientist who worked for decades on human rights, freedom, and equality, and ultimately for children and the future of this world.
Jazz singer Amalia Pavlou, Miltos' niece, provides lyrical vocals on Ti Zoi Mou Ego. This song, built on Cretan laouto, serves as a starting point for a crucial, acrobatic, and autobiographical passage of revision and reconstruction—rebuilding the self. Responding at the end of the album, the song Noima closes this journey with lyrics reflecting the initial questions of the first song, signaling the end of the search and its completion.
Mixing and mastering were done by Stavros Georgiopoulos at Diskex Studio in Athens, while vocal recordings were done at Miltos Pavlou's personal Altāria Studio in Vienna.
